RHC Conference 2025 Workshop: Come entrare nel Dark Web in sicurezza e accenni di CTI

Overview

During the Red Hot Cyber Conference 2025, I delivered the workshop “Come entrare nel Dark Web in sicurezza e accenni di CTI”.

The session was designed to introduce participants to a safe and methodologically sound approach to dark web access, with a specific focus on operational security, investigative discipline, and the basic principles of Cyber Threat Intelligence.

Workshop Focus

The workshop covered the main aspects that should be considered before accessing hidden services or underground environments, including:

  • operational security and identity separation;
  • safe browser and system configurations;
  • risks associated with dark web navigation;
  • intelligence collection boundaries;
  • introductory CTI concepts applied to underground sources.

The objective was not to encourage casual exploration, but to explain how analysts, researchers, and security professionals can approach this environment in a controlled and responsible way.

Professional Context

The session was delivered by Pietro Melillo, CISO at Würth Italia and Director of the DarkLab threat intelligence group at Red Hot Cyber.

The workshop reflected the same approach adopted in my academic and professional activities: combining technical awareness, intelligence methodology, and responsible handling of high-risk information sources.
